A&H Mix-Wizard WZ16:2

The "smaller" boards we use are Allen And Heath (a "British" company) Mix-Wizard WZ16:2's. Another board with many features and good sound quality. These are rack mount size boards and are great for bands that can use a board with 16 channels and take virtually no room.

The WZ16:2 also has 4 band EQ with sweep mids, a Pad switch, a High-Pass switch, and an insert point on each channel. There are no sub-groups, just Left and Right master outputs. There are 6 auxes, 2 are set Pre-Fader for Monitors, 2 are switchable Pre or Post Fader for either Monitor or Effect sends, and 2 are set Post-Fader for effects sends. Yes, this little board can do 4 monitor mixes. There are 2 Stereo inputs as well that can be used as effects returns, these can be also be sent to Aux 1. There is an "Alt A-B" output which can be used as an output to a recorder (DAT, MiniDisc, CD etc) or can be switched to be used as a "cue" output at the mix position.

Allen & Heath GL-3300M

Another Allen & Heath console we have is the GL-3300M. This is a great mid size console with plenty of features.

Each channel has 4 band EQ with sweep mids, a Pad switch, 48v Phantom switch, Phase switch, and High-Pass filter. This console has 8 aux sends, switch-able Pre/Post fader in groups of 4. 8 Sub-Groups, 10x2 Matrix, 4 Mute Groups. Talkback to all 8 auxes. 4 of the channels are true Stereo channels that can be Mono Summed, or used as two inputs sharing one channel strip. There is a Mono output that can be a sum of the Stereo Master outputs or switched to be a "cue" output from the PFL/AFL send. Outputs for recording, and 2-Track return as well.

Soundcraft LX-7

A nice compact 32 Channel console with a lot of features. 4 band EQ with sweep mids, High-Pass switch, 6 Aux sends, Aux 1-2 switch-able Pre/Post in pairs, Aux 3-4 switch-able Pre/Post in pairs, Aux 5-6 are Post Fader. 100mm faders, routing for Mono, Stereo, Groups 1-2/3-4. 2 Stereo mini channels with 2 band EQ that can be routed to the Aux sends. Global 48v Phantom Power.
